A police dog helped find a Gloucestershire woman who went missing during treacherous weather conditions.

PD Airin and her handler PC Counsell helped officer PC Crawford locate the missing person.

Officers were called to Shipton Oliffe at 12.30am on Sunday.

Strong winds and rain were causing a number of problems and meant that the Coastguard were unable to conduct searches with their helicopter for safety reasons.

Following a four-hour search through fields and woods PD Airin picked up on a scent before leading officers to a nearby wildlife hide where an unconscious was woman was found.

PC Crawford climbed up and gave first aid whilst colleagues from the fire and ambulance services attended the scene.

The woman was bought down from the wildlife hide before being taken to hospital for treatment.
