MILES Morgan Travel is now open for business in Stroud town centre.

The travel agent officially opened on Friday, and managing director Mandy Shillito has been thrilled with business so far.

“The response from our customers has been overwhelming and the welcome we have had has been incredible, so thank you to everyone,” she said.

After the closure of Stroud’s Thomas Cook branch, Miles Morgan has also taken on some of the staff from the former travel group.

“We have recruited, Jenny, Lindsay and Tracy from the former Thomas Cook in Stroud, as well as Eileen, who was from the Thomas Cook in Cirencester and Tina Morrison our manager in Stroud was also from Thomas Cook in Cirencester,” said Ms Shillito.

She says the travel group can offer a wide range of services, and they have a strong reputation.

“Being an independent travel agent means that we can offer a very wide choice of holidays and are also a main agent for all big brands too,” she said.

“We have also been voted the Best Travel Agent for the South West and South Wales for the fourth year running so it’s a great testament to the support from those within the industry and our customers too.”

The travel group also has a branch in Nailsworth, and Ms Shillito said: “We have always had our eye on opening a branch in Stroud, and we seized the opportunity to support employment in the area too.”

Ms Shillito added that the travel group are excited about the new venture.

“We are overall delighted to be in Stroud, and we welcome everyone to come and visit us in our new home,” said.

“We offer a tea and coffee service too whilst booking and pride ourselves on the best service and advice from experienced and well travelled specialists.”
