Plans for the new car park in the Waterloo have a precedent in the 1960s when it was proposed to remove the allotments that backed onto the Abbey Grounds and build the present day car park.
This was part of an overall development plan for Cirencester that included a new bus station on the site of town’s railway station and what was to become the ring road.
