PRINCE Charles made a festive visit to the Longfield hospice in Minchinhampton.
During the visit, a former Highgrove worker was able to catch up with HRH after meeting him during his days as an employee at the estate 15 years ago.
Paul King, 38, was among the many patients, families, carers, staff and volunteers who greeted the prince last Friday December 20.
HRH, who has been Patron of the hospice since 1990, chatted to Mr King, who attends day therapy once a week.
“I used to work in the car park at Highgrove and have met the prince a few times,” said Mr King.
“It was very good to see him again.”
Prince Charles also met three families who have been supported by the Hospice at Home team. Jacqui Roberts and her sons Neil and Paul spoke to him about how the nurses had helped the family when her husband Deane was very ill. The retired lecturer died from cancer in August aged 73.
