A 27-year-old man from Cirencester who was more than three times the drink drive limit has been banned from driving.

Andrei Rotaru, of Chester Street, admitted driving with excess alcohol when he appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates Court on December 16.

Rotaru was stopped by police on the A419 on October 25 this year.

He was found to have 130 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35 micrograms.

Rotaru was banned from driving for 31 months and ordered to carry out 140 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months.

He was also ordered to pay a fine and costs totalling £175.
