EMERGENCY services responded to a serious crash near Cirencester yesterday.
The incident took place on the A429 Cirencester to Kemble road.
An air ambulance, a number of police and a fire engine were on the scene.
A spokesman for Gloucestershire police said: "The collision was reported just after 2.10pm and involved a Renault Traffic van and a VW car.
"The driver of the car, a woman in her 50s, had to be released from the vehicle by a fire crew and was taken to hospital in Swindon with suspected leg injuries.
"The driver of the van, a man also in his fifties, was badly shaken by the incident.
"Anyone who witnessed it please call 101 quoting incident 231 of December 22."
A road closure was in place for more than two hours whilst emergency services were on the scene.
