A person has died after being hit by a train between Bath and Chippenham this morning.
Trains that travel between the two stations were cancelled for most of the morning due to the incident on the line.
Network Rail Western tweeted: "There has been a fatality on the railway line between Chippenham Spa and Bath Spa. The train line will be shut while emergency services and our mobile operations team attend the site.
"Services from Bristol Temple Meads will go via Bristol Parkway. There will be additional stops at Swindon to pick up passengers.
"Passengers from Chippenham for London Paddington or Bath Spa/Bristol Temple Meads should take the TransWilts service from Chippenham to Swindon before changing.
"We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause to your journey."
The line between Bath Spa and Chippenham Spa has now re-opened.
