AS far back as can be remembered, Cirencester has been decorated each year with lights and decorations at Christmas.
It has become a tradition to have a fir tree in the market place, but also to have a switching on of lights ceremony performed by a local celebrity.
When this happens each year, the market place become crammed with locals; many of them warming their hands with a glass of hot cider and a bag of roasted chestnuts.
