AN ELDERLY man suffered serious injuries in a collision in Kings Stanley yesterday afternoon.

The collision happened in High Street at a 4.40pm yesterday (Wednesday 11 December) and involved a Land Rover Defender and a pedestrian.

A force spokesman said: "The pedestrian, a local man in his eighties, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with head, leg and internal injuries but was later transferred to Southmead Hospital, Bristol.

"The driver of the Defender, a local woman in her forties, was not physically injured.

"The road was closed for a number of hours to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.

"If you witnessed the collision, or have any information about the circumstances of how it happened, please call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 300 of 11 December."
