A CIRENCESTER construction and civil engineering firm have donated several boxes of food to a local food bank.
Staff from Hercules Site Services, which is based on Lakeside Business Park in South Cerney, recently established a corporate and social responsibility working group (Hercules CSR), which aims to help local charities and organisations which provide help and support to community projects.
Staff from the company decided to put their money together to help those in need this Christmas and delivered the food and other goods to the distribution centre in Cirencester last Thursday.
Chris Winfield, recruitment and marketing manager, said: “The motivation was clear for us as a business.
“The local foodbank is in constant need of donations especially at this time of year where young families have other expectations and expenses and outgoings to consider, therefore managing a lean budget can be extremely stressful.
“Having established the group we have clear targets going into 2020 to identify other projects either local to us here or indeed local to our various projects around the country, we do have plans for another foodbank donation mid-year next year as well."
