A GLOUCESTERSHIRE bus company celebrated World Kindness Day by surprising some of its passengers with flowers to thank them for travelling on board.

Stagecoach West surprised customers with their ‘Thanks a Bunch’ initiative which was set up this year to show appreciation to customers travelling with Stagecoach West and to spread a little more kindness.

The company have 820 staff working across six depots including in Gloucester and Stroud.

The Stagecoach West kindness teams were in Gloucester on Wednesday to give out flowers to passengers in order to brighten people’s journeys and encourage them to carry out a kind act themselves.

World Kindness Day is an internationally celebrated day held on November 13 every year. Its aim is to celebrate and promote kindness in everyday life.

The day is marked across many countries, drawing positivity and attention to the work done by organisations, businesses, communities and individuals who endeavour to spread kindness in the world.

Stagecoach West has recently been shortlisted for the Cultural Change Award at the UK Bus awards.

This award acknowledges its dedication to staff wellbeing and mental health. The ‘Thanks a Bunch’ initiative further demonstrates the company commitment to wellbeing and mental health.
