A few years ago when The Bull Hotel was refurbished, lots of the photos, pictures and plaques that had adorned the walls were either put into storage, returned to their previous owners or disposed of.

One of the casualties of the de-cluttering was a plaque and a shield belonging to the Fairford branch of the Royal British Legion.

Now Arkell’s Brewery, owners of the ancient market place hotel, has provided a lovely new plaque that was unveiled at the beginning of November by RBL member and former world champion motorcycle sidecar racer, Stan Dibben.

Director of Arkell’s Brewery, James Arkell, said it was necessary to replace the historic plaque, which acknowledges the support and generosity of Fairford town since 1927.
