Planning proposals for the development of the A419 around Cirencester were first formulated in the 1960’s, nearly 20 years before the actual By-pass was constructed. The plans appear to have been carried through without much alteration, but others proposals from later years never reached fruition. Todays pictures show the first plans made public for the bypass in 1965 and the bus station proposal from 1983 on the site of the old Town station.
