A popular road in Cirencester will temporary close for two weeks to allow for resurfacing works.

The A435 Cheltenham Road is being resurfaced as part of Gloucestershire County Council’s £150m investment into the county’s roads.

It will be closed for 10 days from Tuesday, November 12, to Monday, November 25, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm excluding weekends.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire County Council said: "In accordance with the temporary traffic order, we are not permitted to allow any person or vehicle to proceed along the closed roads, with the exception of pedestrian access to properties, emergency vehicles, and statutory undertakers responding to an emergency situation.

"Therefore, if you normally drive into or out of this area during the hours when the road closure is in place, we ask you to please make alternative arrangements."

A closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
