Fairford & Lechlade Business Club (FLBC) have announced that The Lakes by yoo has agreed to be the headline sponsor for the FLBC Business Awards for the fourth year running.

The 850 acre private estate, which has featured on TV programmes, The X Factor, Celebrity Hunted and Made in Chelsea, has long been a member of the Business Club and supports the communities around Fairford and Lechlade and local businesses.

Other sponsors pledging support for the awards event that is now in its 13th year are RAFCTE, organisers of the Royal International Air Tattoo, Andrew Garland Action Coach, Hersom Whittaker Limited, McGills Chartered Accountants, The Barkby Group (The Bull Hotel, Fairford), Fairford Roof Tiles and ECI Telecom UK.

Representatives from these generous sponsors will be able to present the awards to the winners at the awards dinner being held on Saturday, January 25 at Sudbury House Hotel, Faringdon.

With the club supporting businesses across Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire, the competition is open not only to club members (in any postcode area), but also to non-members in the postcode areas: GL7, GL54, SN6, SN7 or OX18.

Chris Roberts, founding member of the Business Club, said: “Each year the number of entries grows and we introduced an online entry system last year, which we will adopt again this time. It makes the whole process much easier and more professional.”

Voting is now open for the Bob Warren Hospitality Award where you can vote for your three favourite venues that best demonstrate the spirit of Bob Warren (late landlord of The Trout Inn, Lechlade) – great hospitality, excellent customer service, a warm and friendly atmosphere and provides a fantastic all-round experience.

A winner for the Howard Dowler Award will be chosen by Helen Webb, the chair of FLBC and presented to the club member or business that has made an outstanding contribution to the local community.

The awards dinner will also feature the popular awards auction, which will be auctioned off by TV personality, Philip Allwood of Moore Allen & Innocent.

Philip has appeared on Going for a Song; Flog It; Bargain Hunt; Dickinson’s Real Deal; Cash in the Attic; Beat the Dealer; Antiques Road Trip and many others.

Compere for the evening will be Gary Holland, former mayor of Lechlade and a Director of Lechlade Festival.
