Cllr Kevin Painter who conceived the idea of the first awards back in 2010 said: ''It always was a chance to express how sincerely grateful the town are to the people who help and go that little bit further and its always such a humbling event to see how many people still inspire us all.

"Of course these awards are only the tip of the iceberg of the many many people who inspire us all.

"We all know someone who should win one of these awards so even if a person did not win one this time it will give us all the chance to say to someone you should have had one.

"So please take this opportunity to thank people that we all know, who are an inspiration.

"By saying that to them on behalf of all of us thank you.

"And finally a massive thank you to Tara Niblett who organised the whole event."
