OVER 600 walkers headed to Dursley to enjoy the town’s walking festival.

It took place from October 2 to 6 and although rainy weather was initially forecast for the five-day festival, the weather improved nearer the time.

Festival events were well attended, with over 150 walkers on the first day alone.

The new Five Churches walk and the Exploring + Spinning and Weaving Workshop for Children proved to be particularly popular, as did the Dursley Welcomes Walkers new 16 mile walk, The Figure of Eight.

Christina Carter, chair of Cam Parish Council presented the prize - a pair of tickets to Cattle Country - to the winners of the walking festival family treasure trail at the Cam Parish office.

The winning team called Sparkle, from Cam, is pictured here with Christina, Karen Wintle who devised the trail questions and Chris Cherry, chairman of Dursley Welcomes Walkers.
