A 21-year-old bricklayer has been named a finalist in a national award for apprentices.
Shaynee Davis, who works as an apprentice at Bloor Homes’ Hilltop Park in Chippenham, was handed an invite to the CITB Apprenticeship Awards ceremony in London on November 7.
Shaynee has been an apprentice with Bloor Homes since September 2017 and is just one of two women finalists out of the total nine.
Steve Ellis, bricklaying apprentice master at Bloor Homes, said: “We are extremely proud of Shaynee. It’s an incredible achievement to be a finalist in the Apprentice of the Year category.
“The CITB Apprenticeship Awards celebrate the success of apprentices and employers across the UK. Bloor Homes launched its apprenticeship scheme in 2014 and today there are some 113 apprentices employed across the company’s seven regions, in roles including carpentry and bricklaying.
“Shaynee is a shining example of the success of our apprenticeship programme."
