On Sunday, October 13 at 3pm in the Memorial Hall, there will be a service of re-dedication to mark the unveiling of the Roll of Honour for the men of Lechlade who gave their lives in the service of their country during war, everyone is invited to attend this service. We would be particularly pleased to welcome any family members to this service, if you are in contact with any family members, please let them know that this service is taking place.

  • The next bus walk will be on Monday, October 14 - Highworth to Lechlade via Thames Path, meet at 8.45am at the bus stop outside New Inn, travel via bus and then walk to Lechlade on country lane, footpaths and Thames Path and arrive in Lechlade for the opportunity for drink or pub lunch. The distance is about 7 miles, bring a drink/snack for midmorning break.
  • Lechlade History Society will next meet on October 15 at the Memorial Hall, Lechlade. Doors open at 7.15pm for 7.30pm start. The talk will be on; The Bells! The Bells! The History and Development of Change ringing by Marion Winkles.
  • Tuesday, October 15, from 2-4pm the Art Society has arranged a talk; Falling out of History - women artists from Elisabetta Sirani to Lizzie Siddal. This is a talk and presentation by Dr Caroline Palmer of the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. Members and guests are welcome at the Lechlade Pavilion.
  • Arts in Rural Gloucestershire (AIR in G) will bring a family production of: Those Magnificent Men, to Lechlade in October. Produced and performed by, The Foundry Group, a band of writers and performers committed to producing affordable, popular, intelligent touring shows with a broad appeal. It is written by acclaimed writing duo Mitchell and Nixon and performed by Brian Mitchell and Radio 4 regular David Mounfield. The performance takes place on Friday, October 25 at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall, Lechlade. Doors open at 7pm and there is a cash bar available. Tickets are £10 and are on sale from Lechlade Post Office now. A great evening of comedy for the whole family!
