Officers are appealing for information after a woman was threatened with a knife at her home in Cirencester yesterday.
A man knocked on the woman's door in Meadow Road at about 11.20pm.
He claimed the woman knew him, produced a kitchen knife and held it to her face before she was able to slam the door shut and the man ran away.
The man is described as white, in his 30s, around 6ft 2ins tall, of slim build but with what with the victim described as a 'beer belly'.
He had a tear drop tattoo on his face under one of his eyes.
He was wearing a navy blue hoodie, blue jeans and black trainers with white soles.
Anyone who recognises the description of the man or has any information should call 101 and quote incident 481 of October 10.
