Lib Dems leader on Gloucestershire County Council, Paul Hodgkinson (Bourton & Northleach) said: "I’m sure we have all been shocked at the raid on the Post Office recently.

"I’ve spoken to Melissa at the post office about that raid and am working on getting some physical obstructions outside the premises to stop any future ram raiding.

"With that incident and a number of reports of anti social behaviour in different parts of Bourton, I’ve decided to call a public meeting on the subject.

"Previously I organised a series of meetings for members of the public to come along and hear from the police – the time is definitely right to hold another one.

"In attendance will be the Police and Crime Commissioner Martin Surl and the Cotswolds police.

"I’ll be chairing it and it will be an opportunity to hear from the police about the action they’re taking and to raise points and questions directly with them.

”We all want to support the police in the difficult job they do but also to be a critical friend in making sure they’re focusing on the things which local people are worried about.”

The meeting will take place on Monday, October 21, at 7pm, at George Moore Community Centre
