A 32-YEAR-OLD man has admitted glassing a woman in a Cirencester pub - but has denied doing it deliberately.
Gary Edwards, now of Benham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates Court yesterday and pleaded not guilty to wounding the woman with intent to cause her grievous bodily harm on December 12, 2018.
However, he pleaded guilty to a less serious charge of unlawfully wounding her.
Prosecuting barrister Janine Wood said: “The pleas are not acceptable by the Crown and there will have to be a trial.”
The incident, in The Crown public house, was captured on CCTV which will be shown to the jury.
An estimated three-day trial will be held on April 20, 2020 and Edwards was granted unconditional bail until then.
