David Drew has restated his desire for a second referendum.

The Stroud MP reaffirmed his position when speaking on Sunday Politics West.

When challenged by presenter David Garmston on why he voted against a general election David Drew said: "We've got to get No Deal out the way. No deal is catastrophic.

"We've got to have something we can present to the British people.

"I believe we've got to have a deal of some sort, but then we have to give people the option of whether they want to leave or remain.

"But go back to the people we must, and we have to accept that decision, but with the proper facts this time, looking at some of the implications of No Deal.

David Drew, who was sat beside an empty chair for the interview as no Conservative MP was available, also bemoaned the loss of bills such as the Agriculture Bill, Divorce Bill and Domestic Abuse Bill as a result of Parliament's prorogation.

"We've wasted at least a year, just wasted, thrown away," he said.
