Tetbury Hospital is one of three organisations that have benefited from this years’ Tetfest, an annual live music event in the town.

A bucket collection on the gate at this summer’s event raised over £200 for charity and this has now been allocated.

Tetbury Hospital will receive £100, Cirencester Food Bank £75 and Tetbury Rugby Club £50.

Tetfest organiser and Tetbury Town Cllr Mark Trolly Wood said: “We are delighted that, once again, Tetfest has been able to raise funds for very worthwhile local organisations.

"Our last minute decision to waive the ticket price and make Tetfest a free event did have an impact on the amount we were able to raise for charity, but we countered that with the bucket collection and would like to thank everyone who donated.”

This year’s Tetfest attracted much bigger crowds than previous years, with more than 1,000 people attending throughout the course of the day.

The festival’s new venue at Worwell Farm, Cirencester Road, proved a big hit.

Tetfest’s organisers are now planning their next event, which will take place on July 11 2020.

As well as family friendly entertainment, Tetfest gives bands and musicians from Tetbury and the surrounding area an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of a live audience.

A number of bands have already been earmarked for the festival.

“We’ve set the bar very high because Noasis, the Oasis tribute band that headlined this year, was such a huge success,” Mark Troll Wood added.

“But rest assured – what we are planning for 2020 will be just as good with plenty of acts that will have the whole crowd on its feet dancing.”

Tetfest is now asking for volunteers to join its committee and help organise its 2020 event.

There will be an open meeting at the Priory Inn, at 7pm on Thursday for anyone who like to be involved.

The organisers are also looking for sponsorship from local businesses and would like to extend thanks to all those businesses who have supported the event in the past and helped make it such a success.
