MARLING School is celebrating the success of its Year 11 students who have achieved an excellent set of GCSE results.

With 55% of all exams at the very highest 9-7 grades and 80% at grades 9-6 the school is delighted for its students.

There are many stories of individual success with a quarter of the students achieving 9 or more 9-7 grades, 15% achieving 10 or more 9-7 grades and 4 students achieving grades 8 and 9 in all of their 10 GCSEs.

Headteacher, Dr Stuart Wilson, said “I am really pleased for our students and thoroughly enjoyed celebrating with them today as they received their results.

"This is the first year group to complete a full set of reformed GCSEs and the change has brought uncertainty to both staff and students.

"However, the boys worked really hard, and with the support and guidance of outstanding teachers and staff, they have been rewarded with excellent results which are amongst the best the school has ever seen.

"I would like to thank all of our staff who have worked tirelessly to support the boys in and out of lessons; they will be thrilled with the boys’ success.

"Well done to all!”
