Cirencester Male Voice Choir will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary next month.

The choir was formed by its president, Phil Kerton, in 2009, with the main aim to provide a place for men of all ages and ability to gather and sing, and in the process raise money for good causes.

To date the choir has raised thousands of pounds for local and national charities, and has performed at prestigious venues including the Albert Hall in London, Colston Hall, Bristol and Worcester and Gloucester Cathedrals.

Whether you are new to male voice choirs or a seasoned veteran, the choir is always looking for new members to be part of the expanding musical group.

To celebrate the occasion, the choir will be hosting a concert at Cirencester Parish Church on Saturday, September 21.

The varied programme features a variety of music including choral works, show music, instrumental virtuosity and solo singing.

The evening will be enhanced with performances by Brize Norton Military Wives choir who will sing as an ensemble in the concert and also perform alongside CMVC, the combination of the two choirs producing a magnificent sound.

Soloist Kate Hicks-Beach will also perform.

This concert will also be the swan song performance for the choir's popular assistant musical director and accompanist Lorraine Wild who is moving on to a new post as acting head of music at Cranleigh Preparatory School in Surrey.

Miss Wild will be performing a piano solo as part of the programme.

The event will raise funds for LINC, the Leukaemia and Intensive Chemotherapy charity.

During the interval refreshments and a raffle will be run by the recently formed Friends of Cirencester Male Voice Choir whose support is greatly appreciated.
