A police officer was assaulted in Cirencester last night as he responded to a report of a disturbance.
Shortly after 11pm police were called to Middle Mead where it was reported that a man was causing a disturbance in the street.
When the police arrived the man was inside a property.
A police officer was hit in the face while dealing with the situation inside the building.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and is in custody.
The officer suffered minor injuries.
