Cirencester's much loved acoustic duo Ethemia have been invited to support legendary band The Osmonds.

The pair, Michaela Mott and Berny Poulton have been asked to support the band on Friday, August 23 at the Cheese and Grain in Frome.

"We have been blessed to support many famous acts such as as The Strawbs, Loudon Wainwright III and Steeleye Span, but this is the second time this year we have been invited to perform with The Osmonds," said Berny.

When Ethemia first met The Osmonds, whose massive success since the 70's have seen them sell over a million albums and 59 gold and platinum records worldwide, Merrill the lead singer had asked them to perform to him personally in the green room.

Michaela said: "It was very exciting. When we finished Merrill said your music is really heartfelt and to me personally its healing, you must support us again."

The local acoustic duo were stunned, 'we couldn't believe it when we got the phone call,' they said.

The performance will come once day prior to their performance at Cirencester's Phoenix Festival in the Abbey Grounds.

Michaela and Berny added: "We are especially excited about playing the Phoenix Festival this year not only because we are performing with a full band to capture the essence of our recent EP 'Common Ground', but also we intend to give a preview of 'Stories' a new track from our forthcoming EP 'Past Shadows'.

You can catch Ethemia on the main stage at The Phoenix Festival at 3.30pm on Saturday, August 24.
