Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash on the M49.
Two lorries and a car were involved in the crash around 2pm yesterday (August 19).
Crews from Avonmouth, Kingswood, Temple and Portishead fire stations attended the incident.
On arrival they found five casualties had already been rescued and were in the hands of ambulance crews.
Crews remained on scene and rescued one male casualty in his 60s using hydraulic and stabilisation equipment.
Two casualties were conveyed to hospital via ambulance.
The southbound carriageway was closed entirely while the crash was cleared but reopened a couple of hours later.
