BOSS Sam Prior insists Brimscombe's thumping 7-1 Hellenic League cup win over Faringdon will stand his side in good stead for the visit of in-form Fairford Town on Tuesday, 7.45pm.
Prior said: "We made quite a few changes to the starting line up to get minutes into a few that needed it.
"We started well scoring inside two minutes and then struggled to break down a very defensive side. We found more joy after the break and were clinical when the chances came which was great to see.
"Tuesday night poses a real test when we host Fairford, but our performance in the cup should stand us in good stead."
It took just three minutes for the visitors to find the net, Edd Major picked out James Campbell at the front post to fire home.
Kyle Pitts made it two just before the break and an avalanche of goals followed after the break.
However, Faringdon pulled a goal back.
Nonetheless, Elliot Green erased all worries when he headed over Godwin.Green’s goal opened the floodgates, just two minutes after Campbell’s 25 yard rocket rippled the net, John Evans headed past Godwin to make it 5-1.
The goals continued. Ollie Pitt played a through ball to Jack Smith who made it six. Pitt completed the rout - scoring directly from a corner.
