Farmor’s Sixth Form students celebrated a brilliant set of A level results today.

Value-added scores, which measure the progress made from GCSE to A Level, were the best for the last three years.

Over a fifth of grades were A/A* and the upward overall trend continued again this year with 82 percent of grades at A*-C.

The overall pass rate held steady at 99 percent with A*/A 21 percent, A*-B 51, A*-C 82 percent and A*-E 99 percent.

Farmor's School deputy head of sixth form Sarah Crawford said: Value-added scores were the best for the last three years – a testament to how dedicated and enthusiastic the class of 2019 have been.

"Some were still jet-lagged and weary from their month-long Kenya adventure, but still made it in to celebrate with their friends and staff.

"After two years of working closely together in such small classes, the pleasure of success is certainly mutually shared."

Head Girl, Charlotte Gleeson was thrilled to have secured her place at Cambridge to study Modern and Medieval Languages achieving A*A*A* in English Literature, French and Psychology to add to her A* for EPQ last year.

Head Boy, Alex Eaglestone is heading to Loughborough to study Geography, having gained A*AA in Geography, Economics and Maths. This follows his inspiring visit this summer to Chama District in Zambia where we are helping to build a girls school.

Jake Bevans achieved A*A D in Business, Economics and Drama. He is intending to pursue a career in Business.

Ellie Barnes achieved A* A* A in Psychology, Biology and Chemistry. She is planning a Gap year before pursuing a career in Medicine.

Evie Horrell achieved A* A* B in Graphics, Photography and English Language &Literature. She is going to Bath Spa to study Graphics.

Freddie Marsh achieved A* A* B in Maths, Further Maths and French. He is considering his options for next year.

Ellie Middleton achieved A* A* B in Maths, Graphics and Geography to go with her A* from her EPQ last year. She is going to UCL to study Architecture.

Tilly Glover achieved A* A in EPQ and Fine Art to go with her A in Textiles and B in Media Studies. She is going to study Costume Design at Nottingham Trent.

The celebrations extended to the Year 12 students who were also delighted to collect their Extended Project Qualification results.

A third of the year group took this AS qualification in addition to their A level studies and 84 percent gained A*-B with 100 percent pass rate - another upward trend on last year.
