A warning has been issued by police regarding scam phone calls from fraudsters.
Yesterday, police say they received a number of reports from residents in the North Cotswolds who have had calls from individuals claiming to be police officers.
They had the names and addresses of those they contacted, and claimed that their bank cards were being misused.
They then attempted to get the recipient of the call to dial numbers on the phone.
A Gloucestershire police spokesman said: "Fortunately those who have contacted us realised it was a scam and rang off.
"This having been said, if you receive any such call, please ensure the call is disconnected before phoning elsewhere; sometimes the scammers are able to hold on to your line for a while."
Should you receive such a call, report it to ActionFraud on 03001232040.
