A new pavilion has been opened at Tytherington Rocks Football Club.

Newly extended and renovated thanks to grants from the Hardwicke Trust and the Football Foundation, it was officially opened on July 26.

The pavilion includes a new kitchen, seating area and an extended bar.

Chairman of Tytherington Rocks, Ted Travell, said: "It is wonderful to be involved with this village asset and to witness the many people who use the facilities for sporting and social events."

Chair of the Trustees Becky Longworth added: "We are greatly indebted to the generosity of the Football Foundation in supporting our maintenance and development project. We look forward to seeing the pavilion being used for all different purposes by as many people as possible."

The original pavilion was donated to the residents of Tytherington in 1937 by the Tytherington Running and Social Club.
