Two pub managers are going head to head in a battle of the burgers.
Stephen Pitt of The Bull Hotel in Fairford and Gerald Gallagher of the Five Alls in Filkins near Lechlade were sat together discussing their autumn menus when the subject of the pub classic beef burger came up.
Both felt their chef could better the other so on August 22, National Burger Day, both will present to a select judging panel of locals and staff from both Cotswold eateries to find out once and for all who is offering up the best beefy snack.
Stephen Pitt explained: “We offer the Bull Burger, crispy onion ring, Korean caramelized onion, pulled pork, cheddar cheese, smoked mayo and fresh, crisp salad.”
Gerald is equally as confident and said: “A burger is a classic and should be treated so, we will be keeping it simple but using the region’s best ingredients. A great blue cheese, crispy bacon, chive mayo and a secret ingredient burger sauce.”
