A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car near Cirencester yesterday.
The incident happened at about 4.15pm near to The Village Pub in Barnsley and involved a pedestrian and a silver Vauxhall Insignia car.
A 33-year-old woman, suffered serious head injuries and was taken by air ambulance to the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford where she has undergone surgery.
The driver of the car, a man from Birmingham, was not injured.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who saw the crash or either the vehicle or the pedestrian before it occurred.
