SCOTT REDDING saw his Bennetts British Superbike series lead halved when team-mate Josh Brookes took the second-race win and a penalty saw the Quedgeley rider finish outside of the points.
Redding had cut the final Thruxton chicane and was judged by race direction to have gained an advantage. Redding was given a long-lap penalty but elected not to take it as there were only three laps of an eight-lap sprint left. Bosses then added 15s to his race time which put him outside the points.
Redding now leads Brookes by 20 points with another new track, Cadwell next up in a fortnight.
