The planned new pre-school in Sherston is looking for donations to raise £20,000 to cover additional costs.

Construction began on the new pre-school adjacent to the scout hut on the recreation ground in the village.

The plans were approved by Wiltshire Council at the start of July but the School needs to raise the additional funds arising from the conditions stipulated through the planning process as they plan to open in September.

A crowdfunding page has been set up which has already raised more than £1,000.

As well as crowdfunding, they are also approaching local businesses and making applications to other sources of funding.

Sherston has been without any large scale childcare provider for a year, and a dedicated preschool facility for almost three years and after multiple closures of nurseries and preschool settings in the surrounding area in recent years, the provision of the new pre-school in Sherston even more important.
