Motorcyclist dies and two others taken to hospital after crash

Police and paramedics were called to the junction of Buckle Street and the A44 in Broadway shortly before 4pm on Monday following a crash involving a red Seat Leon car, a Yamaha motorbike and a Honda motorbike.

The rider of the Honda, a man in his fifties from Berkshire, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

His next of kin has been informed.

The rider of the Yamaha, a man in his forties from Guernsey, suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Worcester Royal Hospital.

His condition is not considered to be life threatening.

The driver of the car, a woman in her forties from Broadway, was not injured.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a collision involving two motorbikes and a car.

“On arrival, we discovered one of the motorcyclists, a man, was in cardiac arrest with police officers having already started CPR.

"Ambulance staff quickly assessed the patient but sadly it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

“The second motorcyclist, also a man, was treated for serious injuries, not believed to be life-threatening, and was taken to Worcester Royal Hospital by land ambulance.

“The driver of the car, a woman, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital by South Western Ambulance Service.”

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who they have not spoken to already who may have witnessed the collision or seen any of the vehicles shortly before it happened.

Inspector Dan Wakeford, from Gloucestershire Constabulary's roads policing unit, said: "This was a very serious collision which, sadly, resulted in a man losing his life.

"Our thoughts are with his family and friends as well as all those involved in this very sad incident.

"Anyone who thinks they can help by providing information or dashcam footage is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 329 of July 29."
