A Cirencester chippie has announced its second very own bespoke brewed beer.

Malt and Anchor will now be offering its brand new pilsner 'Bowline' in addition to its golden ale 'Hooked' that will be sold exclusively in the restaurant.

This name is derived from one of the fishing industries most tried and tested knots.

A a spokesman for the restaurant said: "We were keen to create another beer with a flavour profile that would be complimentary to our signature fish and chips and so we opted for a pilsner style lager.

"With a fruity aroma and a crisp and refreshing finish it makes for the perfect accompaniment to a warm summer afternoon, or a beautifully battered fillet of cod!

"As enthused as we are about our beer we are equally passionate about upholding our ethos of ocean sustainability.

"From our work in tandem with the marine stewardship council to ensure our fish is responsibly caught, to our use of recyclable materials at all possible levels, we are committed to promoting positive change.

"With that in mind we have decided to donate 10 pence from every bottle of Bowline sold to the fisherman’s mission, a charity that provides vital support to working fisherman and their families. "The fishing community are an entirely indispensable part of our business and so we are thrilled at the opportunity to be able to give back to them."

‘Bowline’ is now be available either to drink in or to take away.
