Four choirs from Cirencester and South Cerney will perform at a special concert at Cirencester Baptist Church on September 27 to raise money for a defibrillator for the town's industrial estate and to support people and families who live in the vicinity.

The event has been organised by Choirinium, the Chesterton choir for people over 55; other choirs taking part are Singtastic, the Cirencester community choir, Singing for Fun, in South Cerney, and the Blue Notes renowned women's choir, which is also based in the village.

Choirinium, which recent performed at Abbeyfields retirement home in Cirencester is being prepared for the occasion by new musical director, Simon Cowen.

The Choirinium chairman, Robin Thompson said: "It is marvellous being able to bring choirs like this together, it demonstrates there is a lot of enthusiasm for much needed defibrillators.

"We would be grateful if the Love Lane businesses would consider having a defibrillator attached to the outside of their property, thus enable very access when someone is in urgent need of such support".

Further information regarding the event and ticket sale locations will be announced in the near future.
