CBeebies stars visited Slimbridge on Saturday to open a new attraction at the Wetland Centre.

Ferne Corrigan and Rory Crawford, from Ferne and Rory’s Vet Tales, opened the Arctic Adventure experience and launched the summer holiday campaign Global Adventurers.

Marketing manager, Samantha Luxa said: "A big thank you to Rory and Ferne as they made the event so special for our visitors.

"The Arctic Adventure is part of the National Lottery Heritage Funded project ‘Slimbridge 2020’ and recreates life in the Tundra in remote northern arctic Russia where our WWT conservationists spend their time studying a variety of wildlife species including the Bewick’s swans.

"The launch was a great success and we’re so excited to bring to life the important work that WWT does out in the field. It was an eye opener for many visitors and they loved getting hands on with the activities. We’re so pleased that this is a permanent exhibit at Slimbridge.

"A big thank you to all the staff and volunteers involved in this amazing project!’

The Arctic Adventure exhibit allows visitors to experience what it would be like to live in the Arctic Tundra as a real life WWT researcher. Challenges include making a meal menu from the limited supplies that are available to real-life researchers.
