Dursley Town Council have released a CCTV image of a man that they want to speak to after a number of domestic waste bags were found in the new Long Street Car Park.

The appeal went on Facebook late last week, with the council stating that the use of the bin in that way was not acceptable.

In the post, the council said: “The Town Council would like to request the individual in the photograph to please contact the Town Council.

“We would like to speak to the gentleman with regard to the litter bin in Long Street Car Park being filled with several bags of domestic waste.

“The Town Council feel that such use of a litter bin is not acceptable.

“Particularly when we are only a few miles from a waste and recycling centre which is free to use and the Town Council need to pay to dispose of this waste.”

The car park has just been opened officially by the council after a huge amount of construction work.

That work saw the old Gazette offices knocked down to make space for the long stay car park.

It has proved popular with residents and helped to ease parking issues.
