Two burglaries that took place in the early hours of this morning (Thursday) in the Cotswolds are believed to be linked.

At about 2.30 am a man woke to find an intruder in his bedroom in his home in Stow on the Wold.

The intruder left and ran down the stairs and out through the front door before making off in a vehicle which is believed to have been waiting outside.

About 45 minutes later police received a report of a burglary at a property in Bourton on the Hill.

Nothing was stolen in either incident but it is possible that the offenders' intentions were to steal cars.

If anyone saw any suspicious activity in either place overnight, or has any information which could help, they are asked to call Gloucestershire police on 101 quoting incidents 37 and 42 of July 11.
