THERE is much talk about carbon emissions especially from vehicles.
I have just driven to Cornwall and what I noticed was that every road, whether motorway, dual carriage or single lane was lined with large very verdant green trees sucking up the vehicle exhaust fumes.
From their colour and size these trees seemed to be enjoying their diet of this deadly gas.
I feel this may be a lesson to our planners that all major and as many of the minor roads as possible be given this tree barrier to “ eat up “ these deadly carbon fumes.
I remember that many of our town streets had trees planted along their lengths but they have all been removed. Perhaps we would do well to recall and learn from the past.
It could also be applied to the new housing estates that are being built in our area. For every house two or three trees in addition to those should be planted to replace those felled for house building.
