An elderly Bourton on the Water man tragically died after he tripped up his stairs at home, an inquest heard today.
Ronald Brooks, 94, fell at his Heath Hill Farm home on February 9 this year, the Gloucester inquest was told.
He was rushed to hospital with a fractured left hip but sadly his condition deteriorated and he passed away four days later on February 13.
Recording a conclusion of accidental death, senior Gloucestershire coroner Katy Skerrett said: "Ronald had become increasingly unsteady on his feet before the unwitnessed fall on February 9. I am satisfied his cause of death was the fracture caused by that fall."
