COTSWOLD Airport's renowned AV8 restaurant is to re-open this Friday, June 28 after eight months.

This highly popular venue has been closed since last October, when the roof suffered severe structural damage during Storm Callum.

A spokesman for the airport added: "We are genuinely thrilled and reassured that so many people, some very passionately on social media, keep asking when AV8 will be reopened.

"To use an aviation style phrase ‘every cloud has a silver lining’, and this compete strip out has allowed a complete refurbishment; an all new inside, from flooring to tables and chairs."

Suzannah Harvey, CEO of Cotswold Airport, and her team took advantage of the enforced closure to fully refurbish the interior, introducing some unique and quirky aviation features, including airline seats and a section of fuselage, to add to the views that AV8 already had to offer.

The area to the front of the restaurant has been pedestrianised, creating a display area for the historic aircraft that live on site and the terrace has been revamped for those wishing to sit outside and watch the aircraft traffic at this lively airport.

As before, the menu is full of home cooked meals, breakfast offerings and freshly made cake and sweet treats.

Suzannah Harvey and her father, Ronan, owner of Cotswold Airport, hosted a private launch last week which saw an array of VIPs, including Marco Pierre White and HRH Rawy Al Said of Oman, getting a sneak peek.

Due to the re-opening coinciding with The Great Vintage Fly In Weekend (June 29-30) which will see an array of aircraft visiting throughout the weekend, table bookings are absolutely essential.

A spokesman for the airport added: "For the first few weeks, due to anticipated demand, we will only accept table bookings, no walk-ins.

"Once our restaurant phone line is live and we can accept bookings, we will post this on our social media sites and website.

"We look forward to seeing you all again."

Opening hours are 9am-5pm, 7 days a week.
