Officers have been cracking down on illegal parking at school drop off and pick up times.

This morning, police in Cricklade conducted patrols at St Sampson's Primary School.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "A number of parents have been spoken to regarding their parking.

"Can we politely remind people that parking on yellow zig-zag lines is prohibited and can result in penalty charges issued by by both the police and the council."

Recent complaints from residents, communities and schools regarding inconsiderate parking has resulted in an increase in patrols in the area.

Officers can hand on the spot fines of up to £100 to anyone parked within 10 metres of a road junction, anyone parked on a pavement causing an obstruction to pedestrians and anyone parked on the road who is causing an obstruction to other road users.
