A FAIRFORD woman has been nominated for a Pride of the Cotswolds award for the second consecutive year.

Trudi Pannell, lodge manager for Beecham Lodge retirement homes in Cirencester, has been nominated again in the Good Neighbour category.

Last year she finished runner-up to Vince Harris.

Trudi, 49, from Fairford, said: "I am absolutely delighted to be nominated again. It’s a real honour.

"Attending the awards ceremony was a fantastic experience, meeting many incredible people, and humbling at the same time.

Trudi was nominated for going the extra mile to support residents at Beecham Lodge, where she has worked for nearly four years.

The person who nominated her said: "She is always there to help, organise, sympathise or just listen. She would be sorely missed.

Trudi said: "I put my heart and soul into ensuring all my residents are happy, feel safe and cared for.

"Many of them don’t have any family or family close by, so I am always around to help and comfort them and be like a family member would.

"I regularly return to Beecham Lodge in the evenings and weekends, if someone has become ill or needs medical assistance. Quite often ambulances can take 3-4 hours to arrive, so I will stay with my residents, make them comfortable and keep them company until help arrives."
