Renowned artist and designer Clifford Richards has created a series of pictures to help raise much needed funds for the Corinium Museum in Cirencester.

The Corinium Creatures, as they have been dubbed have been inspired by iconic museum objects.

Clifford's prior collaborations include promotions for The Victoria and Albert Museum, ceramics for Prinknash Abbey Pottery as well as various famous advertising campaigns.

A host of local businesses and friends of the museum were invited to a special event to consider sponsoring the creatures and parts of the new interactive displays.

The museum is undergoing a makeover with new, soon to be revealed, Stone Age to Early Roman interactive galleries.

Considerable funds have already been raised through main sponsors Cotswold District Council, together with the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund but more is needed to complete the work and so they are turning to the business community.

Attendees were given the unique opportunity to buy a creature and have their name, or that of a friend, partner or even their business, prominently displayed in the museum.

The money raised will go fully towards the expansion plans, Jack’s Tearoom and Kitchen, and part of the museum set up.

Relish Events were on hand on the night to help by supplying drinks and a range of delicious canapés inspired by the offerings of the onsite café

Philippa Sawyer, director of Relish Events said: “We have worked with museum director Amanda Hart for awhile now and were delighted to be involved and to get to see Clifford’s amazing designs before everyone else.”

£715.00 was raised on the night and there are still sponsorship opportunities.
