May I, through your paper, thank everyone who took part in the celebration of Pentecost on Sunday 9th June.

The service, which was held in the Parish Church, was a union of the twelve churches which make up Churches Together in Cirencester.

Upwards of 300 people, inclusive of all ages and backgrounds, heard about the coming of the Holy Spirit by which the early church came into being.

It was truly inspiring to see the church packed with so many people and to have representatives of the member churches contributing to different aspects of the service.

Special thanks go to those involved in the organisation and to the team at the parish church who ensured that everything came together on the day.

The list, of those taking part includes, musicians, the choir and organist, the Salvation Army band, children’s workers, readers, intercessors, celebrants, church leaders, wardens, technicians and those involved with hospitality, welcoming others and providing refreshments.

If I have forgotten anyone, please be assured that your contribution was equally important.

Finally, if like those who experienced the first Pentecost, you are wondering “what can this all mean?” you can be assured of a warm welcome at any of the services and meetings which take place in all the local churches and elsewhere on Sundays and throughout the week.
